Filming or Recording School Productions

Highland Council’s policy on the use of cameras and video cameras on school premises is justifiably very strict and written permission must be obtained before filming or photography takes place.

In addition, those wishing to video, film, photograph or record school concerts, plays, or discos etc. involving copyright scripts or music must first seek permission from the copyright holders.   MCPS have a Limited Availability Product Licence, which for a small fee will allow schools to make limited copies of dramatico-musical productions in CD, minidisc, music cassette, VHS, DVD, laser disc or any other format expressly agreed by MCPS.   This licence will also allow schools to sell the designated number of copies to the general public. Please note that this licence does not allow the user to make any adaptations of arrangements of the original lyrics or music.   The finished recording must, in addition to the title, bear the prominent initials “MCPS” in a box.
