Showing Films in Schools

Films in any format may be shown for the purposes of instruction in schools to an audience consisting of staff and pupils only.

However, film distributors were concerned at the amount of movies being shown purely for entertainment in schools, so the Public Video Screening Licence was introduced. This allows schools to show films brought in by staff and pupils at end-of- term treats, wet weather days and the like.

Highland schools will be surveyed to see whether a blanket licence is practicable. More information meantime can be found at www.cefm.co.uk
