Ottoline and the Yellow Cat by Chris Riddell

I loved this book so much I can't tell you. I think this book involves such wonderful characters. I think Mr Munroe is very, very, very, very, very sweet! He's adorable and he's cute, and I think he is really cool. I like him so much I drew him in our art lesson. I like everything about this book. It is perfect! I love the ideas for little extras like Robert the mouse and Mr Munroe's armpit hair. The names of the people who looked after Ottoline were brilliant. I loved the illustrations and how they don't use much colour. It's fun having to think up the colours yourself. The whole idea for the book is excellent and it is spectacular knowing that there will be even just the slightest change in the next picture. I couldn't wait to get the book even when Katie my tablemate had it and would show me the occasional picture. I wish it was possible to give it stars higher than infinity! I love this book and I wish it good luck for the final result!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caitlin, Lybster Primary

This book was a funny and enjoyable read. My favourite character was Mr. Munroe as he is a funny little bog creature from Norway. Although this book didn't take long to read, I would still recommend it to anyone who wants a good and funny book to read.

R.M, Dochgarroch Primary

It was a funny book and I loved it.

Lee, Lybster Primary

This book was Fabulous!! The characters seemed real and so did the places. My favourite characters are Ottoline and Mr Munroe. I would give this book two million stars if I could!

Kristin, Lybster Primary

It was funny; nothing was real; my favourite character was Mr Munroe.

Danny, Lybster Primary

This is the best book I have ever read. It was BRILLIANT!

Katie, Lybster Primary

Ottoline gets full 10 from me! It’s great fun for anyone with imagination, and I love the pictures and description. You should try reading it! It’s the best, so I think Ottoline deserves to be the Highland book of the year through her hard work stopping the yellow cat! (with the help of Mr Munroe!)

FJS, Lybster Primary

I think it is brill and it isn't too dull and ain’t too good. It's in between.

Holly, Lybster Primary

This is the best book that I had ever read! It was a bit childish for me because the writing was too bold - I prefer smaller printing. I found that the author rushed into sentences a lot. But anyway I still think it's the best book eva! I give it 5 stars!

Chloe, Lybster Primary

I liked this book because it was so funny and it was a bit stupid.

Liam, Wick North Primary

I liked how she liked to plan things out before she actually did them. I also thought this book was very interesting and I think how they added postcards was fantastic.

Gillian, Hilton of Cadboll Primary

This is a good book and is funny. I like Ottoline's parents because they travel the world and collect ornaments. My favourite character is Mr Munroe because he's always getting into trouble and has long hair. All he eats is porridge and hot chocolate.

Jack, Dochgarroch Primary

This book is filled with great storytelling and has some hilarious characters, both human and animal! This book is relaxing yet fun and is never slow or boring.

Milo, Dochgarroch Primary

I think this is one of the best books I have ever read. My favourite character is Mr Munroe because he is so small and hairy. I really like the part that tells you what his name means. It is a great story.

Ellie, Dochgarroch Primary

This book is very good because it is funny. My favourite character is Mr Munroe because he has very long hair. Chris Riddell is a good writer.

Izzy, Dochgarroch Primary

This book was really good because when I started reading I couldn't stop. My favourite character was Mr. Munroe because he reminds me of my cat. I liked all of her souvenir collections because some of them were very strange.

Alison, Dochgarroch Primary

I liked this book because it is funny and wacky at the same time.

Christopher, Wick North Primary

I thought that the pictures were really good and that it needs more description.

H.J.H, Wick North Primary

I loved this book I liked the pop up post cards.

Ruth, Hilton of Cabboll Primary

I liked the way it was strange and how there were things like an odd shoe collection and weird hats. I did not like how the book was so short because it didn't tell you enough.

Sky, Hilton of Cadboll

There is nothing really not to like in this book.  My least favourite bit was when the cat tried to steal the jewels from the rich ladies houses.

Emma, Hilton of Cadboll Primary

Very well written. You feel really sorry for Mr Munro when Ottoline keeps ignoring him. I think it would be a better book for younger children.

Katie, Ferintosh Primary

This was a book for young people and is not for people aged eight and over. I did not understand what the Lapdogs were and it skipped through bits really fast.

Danny, Ferintosh Primary

I loved this book it was great! I like that they only used the colour red. Also there are great pictures and not too much writing I really enjoyed that book.

Rachael, Dornoch Primary

I quite enjoyed this book but I felt that it jumped from one place to another too much. Also the layout was different from page to page so it was a bit confusing.

Charlotte, Ferintosh Primary

I liked this book because it has a good storyline. It has too many pictures and are all scattered about. The story is most important.

Kiera, Ferintosh Primary

Ottoline and the Yellow Cat was very good. It did not have a lot of writing but it did have a lot of pictures. I like the way they set the story out and I would like to read more of Chris Riddells books like Ottoline Goes to school.

Anna, Dornoch Primary

Ottoline and the Yellow Cat was very very good and it did not have a lot writing in it . I liked the part when it shows Ottoline as a baby. I think that it is suitable for little and big people. It is nice that Ottoline has a best friend and that they’ve been together forever. The next book is called Ottoline goes to school and I think it would be good.

Nathalie, Dornoch Primary

I liked the whole book because it was enjoyable and a bit crazy. It was a mystery book and I liked the pull-out postcards at the end.

Kirsty, Ferintosh Primary

I liked the story but I think there were too many pictures and not enough writing. It was set out a bit too messy and was hard to read.

Catriona, Ferintosh Primary

I liked the characters in this book. It is a very good book and I would recommend it to anyone. It is good for older and younger kids. I like the illustrations and I liked the way they only used the colour red.
