Brian
Keenan became headline news in 1986 when he was kidnapped in Beirut by
fundamentalist Shi’ite militiamen and held for the next four and a half
years.
For much of that time
he was shut off from all news and contact with anyone except his guards.
He also suffered repeated torture. Later he was to share a cell with other hostages, among them John
McCarthy. This is his story
of how he survived, mentally, physically and spiritually.
