This website has been compiled by a working group of school librarians in Highland and designed by the Librarian at Thurso High School.   It contains information on books published in the last  20 years, which are suitable for the Specialist Study : Literature, in the Scottish Qualification Authority's  Higher and Advanced Higher level examinations.   It is intended to help students who are having difficulty selecting a suitable text, and to facilitate access to useful background material.   You will find a summary of the book, an indication of the themes covered, basic biographical information on the author, and links to web sites.   This is not intended to be a comprehensive selection; there are many other books which are suitable for this study.
