A book in two parts, exploring a troubled relationship between two women.   Amy is a single parent, bringing up the bright outgoing child, Kate.   They move on frequently as Amy struggles to regain her identity and literacy.   She has endured a traumatic experience.   The second part of the book explores the other side of the story from Ash's point of view, giving insight into the personalities and relationships involved.   The novel is partly set in Argyll and Inverness, and is by an Inverness writer.
