• Born in Inverness, 1962

• Educated at Inverness High School and Aberdeen University

• Lives in Cambridge

• Won the Saltire Award for her shot story collection Free Love in 1995

• Like was also nominated for the Saltire Award

• In 1997 carried out a Scottish/Canadian exchange fellowship
