Corbenic by Catherine
Fisher
Published by Red

Cal, consumed with bitterness and loathing towards his alcoholic mother,
leaves her to start his life afresh at his
Uncle’s.
Half asleep, he stumbles off the train at what he thought was his stop only to
discover too late, he’s stranded at “Corbenic”. From there he meets the Fisher
King and his real journey or ‘quest’ begins – his struggle over lying and
covering up the shame of his alcoholic mother, his obsession with order and
neatness and, his foolish longing to buy happiness with money … throughout all
of which the Grail, Arthur and his Company, medieval battles/re-enactments are
spun.
A fantastic, gripping re-working of the search for the Grail in a contemporary
setting with New Age travellers who are not all they seem ... A must for anyone
fascinated by the Grail Legend. |
