Set in medieval times, this story is about a boy struggling to find his true identity after the Crispin by Avideath of his mother.   The Steward declares him a 'wolf's head' which means anybody can kill him as he is no longer seen as being 'human' which forces him to flee his village.   He stumbles across a giant juggler called Bear who protects him and trains him in the art of entertainment.   But as they travel from village to village, there are still enemies pursuing them intent on killing him.   Will he find out why they want him before he gets killed?
