Policy
 

Main aims:

bullet

To highlight quality books for young people aged 14+

bullet

To help pupils to chose titles they will enjoy

bullet

To encourage pupils to continue reading quality material which will prepare them for Higher English 

Policy:

bullet

Books will be selected from a range of currently available material published in the last 20 years and will include non-fiction

bullet

All interested librarians, teachers and pupils may suggest titles for inclusion on the web site

bullet

Suggestions will be considered by an editorial group of librarians

bullet

In the event of disagreement the final decision will rest with the Reading Webs Committee

bullet

“Scottish” is defined as: by a Scottish born writer, having a Scottish theme, or reflecting Scottish life and culture

bullet

The web site will be maintained, updated continuously and reviewed annually

Process:

bullet

Suggestions for inclusion may be sent to members of the working group at any time

bullet

Where possible the person making the suggestion should write a short blurb for the book they are suggesting (see guidelines)

Final selection, decision on books to be removed etc will be the task of the editorial group
