Swindells explores the theme of racism in similar way to homelessness in Stone Cold.   A very powerful book, with focus of a multi-ethnic Millennium development in town of Shadderton, following relationships of Steve and Ashraf, and their sisters , Colleen and Abida.   Racist feelings in the community are polarised in the opposing extremist factions, Blackout and Khalifa. Steve and Ashraf get swept along, involved in the violence, but eventually are reconciled when the Millennium arrives.  An excellent read.
