To Trust a Soldier
by Nick Warburton
Published by Walker
A war story set in a future which seems more like the past, where machinery is obsolete and has
been replaced by horses. Mary, a young girl left behind, is
found by a group of soldiers led by a sergeant with a strange mission. Narrated by Mary and Hobbs, a volunteer, the tale involves Mary leading the lost unit back to the battle field. Everyone loses so much during war, the horror of which is portrayed
well. The story ends with an unexpected twist.
Highly recommended to those who enjoy a war theme, exploring the rules of war and its human cost.
