The Education Resource Centre has been closed following a Council decision on 14th February 2008. This has been done as a cost saving measure. The detail of how the service is to be taken forward is still being worked out. Enquiries about the service should be directed to the Library Support Unit: 01463 235713.

No mechanism is yet in place for dealing with materials other than CPD and topic books. These are however still listed on this site pending a final decision on whether they are to be retained or not.

NB this service is for Education Service personnel in Highland only.

Catalogue

Some of these resources are listed in the Highland Libraries on-line catalogue and can also be requested via a local library.

5-14 Resources

These are mostly classroom resources. Please note that they were all compiled before 1998. Because it is a long list it has been divided into sections:

Support materials for National Qualifications

Resources relating to National Qualifications are listed on the LTS site in the National Qualifications on-line section. To search you first select your subject from the drop down list, then go to the NQ on-line e-library. Some of the resources can be downloaded directly from the site, some can be obtained from LTS. Resources produced by other Authorities are purchased centrally and are held at the Resource Centre. Please quote the purchase order/product code number when requesting any of these materials. Many of the packages have similar titles, but quoting this unique number should ensure that you get the one you want.

SQH Books

These are listed on the Highland CPD site

Audio Tapes

Video Compilations

These lists have also been divided into sections by subject so that they will load more quickly.  Please note: these recordings have been made under the Education Recording Agency (ERA) licence held by Highland Council.

Highland schools requiring copies should in the first instance contact the Library Support Unit (01463 235713) to find out if the service is available. If copies can be made you will be required to send the appropriate number of blank videos with a list of what you require. Copies cannot be provided to individuals or schools outwith Highland.
