Username/Password request problem

Some users are experiencing a problem accessing word documents on this site.   An authentication box appears asking for a username and password. This is a problem with the users operation system and MS Word.

How to view a document

When the box appears if you click cancel you can still view the document.

Suggested fix

1. Close any programs that you are using
2. On your Windows desktop, do one of the following:

• In Windows 98 / NT 4.0, double-click My Computer, and then double-click Web Folders

• or In Windows Me, 2000,  XP, double-click My Network Places

3. Delete the website address where the problem occurred

ie  www.highlandschools-virtualib.org.uk
